We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

John Keating, Dead Poets Society

This is a difficult time for everyone, especially artists, musicians, and venues.  The owner's of Ji-Eun Lee Music Academy and The Switch Theatre want everyone to remain safe and in many cases this means limiting exposure to other people, but social isolation is also not healthy.  We believe now, more than ever, the world needs music, theater, and art.

We are carefully monitoring CDC, state, and Fishers Health Department guidelines for the best methods for safely reopening our programming.  We are slowly reopening our business as teachers and students are returning to in-person music lessons and our theater is carefully rolling out limited shows and events.  These are some of the measures we have put in place to maintain the safety of our students, patrons, staff, and performers:

  • Music lessons can be in person or online.
  • Class rooms limited to two people (teacher and student) at all times.
  • We have closed our smallest class rooms.
  • Every class room is equipped with two pianos that are socially distanced 6 feet apart; rooms have been marked to designate social distancing for student and teacher in non-piano rooms.
  • Pianos and common surfaces are disinfected after every student.
  • We strongly encourage students to wash hands before each lesson and to use hand sanitizer after each lesson.
  • As always, hand sanitizer is available in our lobby.
  • Facemasks or face shields are strongly recommended.
  • If anyone feels ill they should remain home.
  • In our theater...
  • Capacity will be limited.
  • Face masks strongly recommended for audience members.
  • All seating is assigned in socially distanced seating; capacity is nearly 1/3 our total capacity.
  • As always, hand sanitizer is available in our lobby.
  • Lobby seating has been reduced and socially distanced for your safety.
  • Entrace and exit are designated to avoid patrons from passing one another in the hallways.
  • If we open our concessions social distancing is marked on the floor.

When it comes to our performers, every show has unique needs.  We are working with each group to ensure the safest possible arrangement on stage, back stage, and in our green rooms.

We hope you will join us for our limited,  upcoming shows and events as we celebrate life through the expression of art and music.
